Lesotho gets cold – very cold! If water freezes in a pump overnight whilst it is not running it can crack the pump. With this in mind we manufactured the bioreactors with internal submersible aeration pumps. Besides alleviating the potential cracking problem it also has the benefits of keeping the effluent warm from the running motor and secondly it makes them very hard to steal in remote settings.
This 20kL/day system has been designed to be upgraded in future should the need arise.
